Solid Bang for the Buck

"No pun intended in the title, but when I backed into a pole and cracked the bumper cover on the Ugly Pumpkin, I didn’t feel like dishing out the $1.5K I was quoted, or the $500 deductible plus increased premiums insurance would have involved. A quick YouTube search convinced me I could do this repair so I went for it. The part was delivered quickly, considering it was custom painted - I want to say two weeks from when I ordered I had it in my hands. There were some delays with the transit company, nothing on partify’s end. The bumper was powdered, wrapped in tyvex or something similar, and the box filled with air bags. There was zero damage, and it absolutely was not cracked or folded. I took off a star because this part was not perfectly painted. Of course the color was a bit off as they warn - I mean, my car has been driving around for six years so I’m not surprised the paint has faded slightly. Even so, the difference is not immediately obvious. There’s some imperfections along the edges, like what you get when the painters tape isn’t completely adhered, but you have to be pretty close up to notice them. I’m not complaining about it at all, but if you want perfection go to a body shop or the dealer and pay the extra. I probably should have waited a few days to install the bumper. I did something that scuffed the paint slightly and I feel like giving the paint more time to set would have stopped that. They do say not to wash the car for 30 days (longer? I don’t have the paperwork in front of me). Installation was a piece of cake and no problem even for one person. Do be sure you buy a set of bumper retention clips (10 mm) because you won’t be able to reuse all the ones on the car. It took me I’d say 2 hours working very (too) carefully, and a Google search will give you all the info you need. Also, remember the black bumper guard is not included so you’ll need to get that ($75-$100 depending on where you get it) or a cheap imitation on Amazon ($10 or so). Overall, I’m freaking thrilled I got this and will absolutely order from them again if I need to."
