How to Find Your Audi or Volkswagen Paint Code

How to Find Your Audi or Volkswagen Paint Code

There are three different ways that you can find your paint code:

Option #1: You can find your paint code on the manufacturing sticker as explained below.

All Audi & Volkswagen vehicles have their paint codes displayed in one of a few locations within the vehicles trunk. Some of the possible locations within the trunk are: Under the trunk deck lid, inside the rear compartment, under the mat, or on the spare tire wheel well. Some of the variants are: LZ9Y, LY7G, LH5X.

Option #2: You can call your dealership's parts department and ask them for your paint code. They will ask for your VIN.

Option #3: If you are still not sure how to get your paint code, you can contact us here and we will do our best to assist you in finding it.

I have a 2002 VW Golf and I checked the spare tire compartment for the paint code. I see the place where it used to be as there are two little strips of glue where the paper used to be. It’s a glossy white colour and was wondering how many shades of white did VW use? Is it possible to go to an automotive paint supply shop and get the colour scanned electronically for a perfect match?
